[ Outline ]
Prasat Muang Kack is one of the Khmer monuments.
It was built for a Hindu God, Shiva, in the 10th century A.D.
The monument facing north consists of three main buildings.
The main materials are brick and sandstone.
The monument is enclosed by a wall and a moat same as other sanctuaries.

The right side building

There are two bases of smaller buildings located out side.

|
This monument scale is smaller than "Phimai", but it is enclosed by double walls.
In 1990, the Fine Art Department has restored Prasat Muang Kack and found a lintel
depicting decorations of Koh Ker style (dated bet. 974 and 972).
The buildings are badly weathered, the frame of entrance and base are only remained.
|
A carving of main ruin's lintel is barely remained.
There is another monument
"Prasat Non Ku"
which is about 600 meters from here.
